How do I set the default size for a stamp?

I added a custom stamp, but the image file stamps on the page in a size much larger than I desire. I have re-sized the stamp, but how do I save that size as default? It made sense to me that when I got it where I wanted it I would RMB click on the stamp and choose Properties>Make Current Properties Default, but that doesn't work.

You need to resize the stamp file Acrobat created, or resize the image you used and then create a new stamp from it.

Really? I had to go into an image editor and scale the image down to 20 pixels x 20 pixles and now (of course) the image looks all pixelated and jaggy. If that is true, that is mind blowing. Thanks for the assistance.

What do you mean "mind blowing"? The size is a pretty natural thing. A stamp is a PDF page, so the size of the stamp when placed is the size of that page.  

You didn't need to resample your image down to create a 20x20 stamp You have other options. For example, create a 20x20 button, then use the full size image as the icon. Or, a better option is to create a PDF page from your full size image, then use the PDF Edit tools to select and resize it to 20x20. These are both options that scale the image for viewing, while preserving the orginal size. 

And yet another option is to write a script to place your stamp, so the script sets the size on placement.

Thanks for all the help. After learning that Acrobat DC either can't do what I need or there are subpar workarounds and script installs required, I found another program called PDF-XChange with a perpetual license (for a very modest fee) that can easily do literally everything I needed Acrobat DC to do, without requiring thousands of dollars in subscription fees over the course of a lifetime.

Acrobat can do what you need and they are not subpar workaournds. In fact, the solutions I provided are not workarounds at all, they are solutions, only one used a script. And they cost nothing. So I have no idea what you are going on about.

This is not a helpful answer. If we knew how to do that then we probably wouldn't be here...

I've imported a JPEG as a custom stamp. The resulting stamp is WAY bigger than the JPEG previewed in my image editing app. There's no option to set the size of the stamp. I can 'resize' the JPEG all I like before importing it, but the resulting stamp is always the same ENORMOUS size.

Easy way:

No matter what size your original graphic was made, and what size it became once placed as a stamp in Acrobat, you can easily resize the stamp in Acrobat.

1. Place the stamp and select it. The risizing nodes appear on the corners.
   1. Select the Stamp. Corner resizing nodes appear.
2. Grab a corner node and drag it to the size you want.
   Drag a corner node diagonally to resize the stamp.
3. You also rotate the stamp by grabbing the top center node and rotating your cursor clockwise/counterclockwise.
   To also rotate the stamp, grab the top CENTER node and drag clockwise / counterclockwise.
   
   4. And you can move the stamp anywhere on the page. Click the stamp in the middle and drag it.

Thom Parker sounds like a real ass.  If you truly do work for Adobe, i feel sorry for them.  If you were my employee you would be fired for your attitude immediately and your blantent disrespect for the customers.

I personally have found a great deal of issues with Adobe Acrobat Pro DC.  I have to take multiple steps do the things that i used to be able to do in one step.  I used to be able save the font color and size format, no longer.  Now you have to change it each time you go to type something onto a PDF.  

I do believe that I will be going to straight to ADOBE and letting them know of your poor attitude and rudeness.

Since the only Adobe Community "Professional" that is responding has demonstrated nothing but arrogance, let me share my workaround.  See, I'm actually interested in helping you, not fluffing my ego.

I have a large stamp for my signature, and I chose this way to avoid a poor quality pixelated signature (I'm sure there are other ways that achieve the same results with less steps, and maybe someone who is trying to be helpful can share).  Once I place the stamp/signature on the page, it's much larger than the document, so I zoom way out so I can hover over one of the corners of the stamp (you'll know your in the right spot when the mouse icon looks like a line with two outward pointing arrows on both ends).  Click on it and resize it down.  Works every time.

I have tried that. It does not work. When I try to drag the signature around, it doesn't work either. There must be a glitch on my document or on the stamp I created. So in short, my stamp won't resize, won't allow me to move it and frustrates me to no end. Any help would be great. Thanks

If you're trying to resize and/or move the stamp on the page, just simply use the main cursor in Acrobat, click the stamp, and then drag to move it.

Could you provide more detail please? 

• What do you mean by "create a 20x20 button"? Neither sizing nor 'buttons' seem to be offered as part of the process to create a custom stamp. 
• When you say "create a PDF page from your full size image, then use the PDF Edit tools to select and resize it to 20x20", should it then be imported as a custom stamp? Just to be sure I understand. 

The process of adding a stamp is a bit confusing, to say the least. The in-app instructions indicate that using a JPEG file is possible. But the results suck, given that the 'stamp' created is about 1/3 the width of the A4 page, regardless of any JPEG file resizing you do before importing.

I did hope that there might be palettes of stamps available for easy download from Adobe... Isn't that the sort of thing that the Adobe ecosystem is supposed to specialise in?

That's not so easily done. You need to use the Scale Pages profile of the Preflight tool to achieve it.
