How do I set up a PDF form/template system easily?

I'm having some problems with using acrobat for a specific process. I'm needing to somehow make a template or a form that can have pictures and text added. I've done it by the standard form method, but the text fields remain editable, and it has been a problem when trying to merge the individual forms. It appears that they all go blank with only one staying with the original. The attached image shows what happens when I try and merge the files together.

Could someone please advise what I could do to avoid the issues I'm getting?

Combine the files as a portfolio or flatten the form fields before you combine the files.

Hey ElliotE,

Thank you for reaching out.

In Acrobat, when you combine the files and there are common fields on both the form, it will merge the data from the first form to others automatically. It is an as-designed behavior.

As you wish to combine the forms and make them non-editable, try recreating the PDF. Use the following steps:

- Open the PDF and click on the Print icon.

- Select Adobe PDF from the printer dropdown list.

- Click on Print.

Then combine the PDFs and check.

You may also create a PDF portfolio. Use the steps as suggested in this help document: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/create-customize-pdf-portfolios.html

Let us know if you have any questions and experience any issues.

Thanks.

Meenakshi

Using the print dialogue and saving/printing as .PDF has done the trick. Can't believe I didn't think of that. I tried exporting and re-merging using a 3rd party software, but that still ran up problems. Thank you ever so much for pointing it out!

I've now run into a different problem. I've just tried to make a new PDF document from a blank page and I'm able to add images, but when I right-click the page and select "add text" the text box appears, but it won't allow me to type properly. I have to click the text box with the cursor each time to input just one letter, making it near impossible to type into any text field or text box. Would you happen to know what could be causing this?
