Question

How do I stop my PDF files from printing twice?

Hello,

Every time that I send a pdf file to the printer, Adobe Acrobat Reader sends duplicates. I have to hurry and open the printer, and cancel the duplicate print job before it prints. Otherwise, it will print twice and waste my labels and ink that I pay for. This is a problem because that means i can only print one document at a time. I have a home business which requires me to print a variety of labels in one sitting. What is causing Adobe Acrobat Reader to send duplicates to the printer? And how do I fix it? Thanks in advance for your help.

I have been experiencing the same issue.  Print copy is set to 1 but it prints out 2 sets.  This is starting to cost me money as I am using HP Instant Ink & I am charged based on pages printed.

I am using Adobe Acrobat Pro DC, continuous release / version 2020.013.20064

Windows 10

HP OfficeJet Pro 6978

Hi Ericka,

Thanks for reporting the issue here.

Can you share some information regarding the issue and the system configuration :

  • OS version (WIN.MAC and version)
  • Adobe Acrobat Reader's version isntalled
  • Printer name
  • Printer driver installed
  • Is the issue reproducible for all file(s) or a set of file(s) only
  • Is it possible to share the file with us, if the issue seems to be reproducible on only a set of file(s)

Please do let us know, if anything else is required from our end.

Regards,

I have been experiencing this same issue for about a week and it's incredibly annoying (as I run a small printing business).

In the process of formulating a reply to the above post I tested printing from another application and discovered I have the same issue.  My feeling therefore is that this is an issue with an update to Windows 7 (I am using Professional), that is unless Adobe takes over handling print jobs for the whole system......?

Well, thanks for your valuable input. So you have now described me as untrustworthy - can you please explain the basis for this character determination?

I have a workstation which worked perfectly fine until this problem occurred. In fact in all other areas it still does, so why would I need to change this particular machine? Other than to comply with your personal set of morals that I seem to have insulted.

What's the exact version number of the application? What's your OS version? What's your printer model and driver version? Does it happen with all files, or just some?
