how to create a round auto text fillable field

I'm creating an interactive PDF with fillable text fields - the design requires the fields to be circles, with Auto text, and the Auto text needs tighter leading. I've tried putting invisible squares above a base doc with the circles but it looks awful and would require manual editing of all the line breaks. I've searched around and it looks like it would take an update from the dev's for this to be possible...?!

If the form will be used by a limited number of people who can be trained, you might consider setting up the field to allow Rich Text formatting. This allows the user to center the text both horizontally and vertically, as well as adjust the leading. Not perfect, but it is the best you can do.

I've tried to leverage all of the options available in Acrobat, including rich text, it's just that the final result within the circle looks awful

The best solution I have right now is in Apple's Pages program, but the document I'm creating needs to be as openly accessible as Acrobat.

I really appreciate your time in answering my questions - thank you. Perhaps I can hunt for a developer that can create a unique App for this purpose.

Thanks.

Not possible -- Ever?

I see that it's not possible now. Has anyone ever been able to ask for a new feature and it gets heard/actioned by the developers?

Sure, new features are added all the time, but this one is extremely unlikely to be implemented. Form fields are defined as being rectangular (as well as links, pages, etc.), to change that would mean changing a huge part of the PDF Standard, which is out of Adobe's hands, as it's a public ISO.

You can submit a feature request here, but don't hold your breath: Feature Request/Bug Report Form
