Question

How to edit a pdf after I set a password on it?

I set a password on a PDF using adobe acrobat. Now I want to continue editing it. How do I do this? I never get a prompt to input the password I set, I just get told "This is a secure document, no editing allowed".

Where is the input password field? What was the password for?

I ask ChatGPT and it gives me walls and walls of text. Dude. I just want to input the password that I set. What is going on? Where is the simple "Enable editing? -> please input password" field?

Go to File - Properties - Security and select No Security. Enter the password you applied earlier and then save the file, close it and re-open it. When you're done with your editing, re-apply the security policy.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

Remove the password protection.
