I've been using AEM to create forms for a whilw and I really do miss the fuctionaility that I had!  I just installed Adobe Acrobat Pro DC and it's horrible in comparison.

Does anyone know how I make a dorp-down list in Pro DC be visible on screen only?  It is grayed out in the Properties box.

Hye Scott!

Thank you for sharing the details and screenshots.

If you are the owner of the PDF form and creating it, and not getting the options, please repair the installation files of Acrobat from the help menu>repair installation. Reboot the machine and try again.

If you still don't get the option, then remove Acrobat using the cleaner tool Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs

Reboot the machine and install Acrobat back and check: Download Acrobat DC installer for Enterprise term or VIP license

However, if you are not the owner of the PDF form and have received it from a user, then please check the PDF forms properties File>Properties>Security>and check if the document modification is allowed or not.

If you are not the owner of the form, then you might have to contact the original creator and have to ask them to make the changes.

Thanks,

Anand Sri.

Hey Scott!

I hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble you had.

Would it be possible to share a screenshot of the window where you are getting the grayed-out option to make a drop-down list visible?

Also, what is the version of Acrobat Pro DC installed on the machine? To identify, please take help from this article: Identify the product and its version for Acrobat and Reader DC

Are you on a Mac or Windows machine and what is the version?

Add a drop-down form filed, click on the properties, under the General tab, in Common Properties section, you have the option of making Form field visible, hidden, visible but doesn't print, & hidden but printable options. See the below screenshot:

FormField.png

If the above option is not visible/grayed out and you are not able to choose them from the list, then please repair the installation files of Acrobat from the help menu>select repair installation. Reboot the machine and then check again.

Are you experiencing this with one specific PDF or is it with all the PDF files?

Let us know how it goes and share your observations.

Thanks,

Anand Sri.

Thank you Anand!  That seems to have resolved my limited options on the Properties dialog box.

Now if I could only get my AEM forms to open in the New Acrobat Pro DC so that I could enable heir usage rights to be functioning forms.

Thanks for your help!!

Scott W.

You can't change this property in a Adobe Sign form. It is possible in a Acrobat form.

I have a similar question.  I am working with fields that are not "Required'.  I don't want the items in my item list shown so I put a first item of "Select" in the item list.  However, after I Send it out and it returns with signatures, and I print it, the form prints "Select" of the fields that weren't selected.  Here is how it looks below except this drop down box isn't there.  drop down box.png  I want only the fields that were selected to be printed.  All the "Selects" I don't want to print.  Is there anyway I can do that.  I saw the option "Visible but doesn't print"  but won't that just not print anything for that particular field?
Hope you can help.

Do you know how I can find that javascript. I'm sorry, I am not a
programmer. I just want to make it work the way I'd like it to.
