how to reduce PDF file size in Acrobat Pro

Hello,

In Acrobat Pro I have created a PDF from scan that is of 32 Mo (for 4 pages only).

I would like to reduce the PDF file size, but by choosing the level of reducing (by example on "medium reducing"). How to do this ?

Another question : as my scan was of 32 Mo for 4 pages (text only), how to set Acrobat Pro in order to scan with a less big PDF file size ?

Utilisez une résolution de 200 ppp et déplacez le curseur de qualité vers "Petite taille", comme indiqué ci-dessous.

Respectfully JR, those two changes cannot cause this document to be that large.

Pierre, can you please provide a screenshot of the document? About the only thing I can think of that course cause a document to be this large would be many images. A whole lot of images.

By the way, I've been assuming that Mo is the french for MegaBytes? Am I correct in that?

The problem is that I have not kept the problematic large PDF file. I have deleted it.

For me, Mo = Mega octets.

Hi Pierre,

Something that big tells me that you have a four-page picture PDF. That is, you scanned four pages and turned them into a PDF but did not do any OCR process. Is that correct?

If so, select the Scan & OCR tab and in the Work Bar you'll see a Big "A" and little "A" followed by "Recognize Text. That's a dropdown menu, select "In this file." Then click on the "Recognize Text" button.

After it's done, what is the size of your document?

Hello,

Meanwhile I have deleted my 32 Mo 4 pages PDF file.

But here are my scan settings in acrobat pro. When I had made the 32 Mo 4 pages PDF, you can see that OCR was checked during scan.

If you have Adobe Acrobat Pro, there are two methods to reduce the size of a PDF file: File > Save As Other > Reduced Size PDF and File > Save As Other > Optimized PDF - if you only have Adobe Acrobat Standard, only the first one will be available.
