Question

How to remove the lines/circles when selecting text in Acrobat Pro DC

I use Acrobat Pro DC for work, specifically to redact documents, and recently received a new version (2021.001.20142). Now when I double-click a word to redact it, these vertical lines with circles appear at both ends of the word, like guidelines. The problem is that the circles block surrounding text, making it difficult to read/redact quickly because I have to select something else to make them go away. Is there a way to disable this feature?

Hi there

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble. As described, you want to disable the vertical lines with circles that appear around the text like guidelines.

Would you mind sharing the screenshot of the same for a better understanding? By default, thin red outlines appear around images and text you mark for redaction, and black boxes appear in place of redacted images and text. You can set the default appearance of redaction marks before you mark items for redaction. You can also change the look of redaction marks before you apply the redactions.

For more information about changing the redaction mark please check out the help page https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/removing-sensitive-content-pdfs.html#change_the_look_of_redaction_marks_acrobat_pro and see if that works for you.

Hope this information will help

The issue stopped overnight, not sure why, so unfortunately I'm unable to provide a picture. I wasn't talking about the redaction mark though. The lines I was referring to were vertical only, not a box, and they had a big white circle at one end which looked like those you might see in photo editing to rotate an item. Either way, doesn't matter as the issue went away of its own accord. Thank you anyway.
