How to use Apple Voice Dictation when adding text or editing a PDF document

My 12-year-old son has dyslexia. He got all his homework as PDFs files and is trying to use Apple Voice Dictation to write his answers directly into the PDF document (We have Acrobat DC), but for some reason, we cannot use Apple Voice Dictation in PDF documents, no problem in any other program.

Any solutions and work around highly appreciated.

Not sure if it will solve it, but worth a try: Go to the Acrobat app menu, Preferences, Accessibility and make sure that "Enable assistive technology support" is ticked.
