A PDX file is an index file created by Adobe Acrobat. It contains an index of documents and directories and enables the capability to search across multiple .PDF documents.

No disrespect but that does not answer the question posed by the OP.

I am a the same position whereby I have a large collection of pdf journals and a pdx file that connects to them. I am not, therefore, able to search the files for information that I require. So, is there a solution that does not involved installing Wine and it's associted problems. Been there!
