How to workaround PDF Form textbox with incorrect maximum number of characters?

I have a PDF Form to fill in but one of the textbox fields only permits 6 characters which is incorrect, the author of the form has made a mistake, I need to enter 8 characters. Is there a way to workaround this? Is there some way I can force the PDF form to allow me to enter 8 characters in the field?
