I have a pdf I am editing with Acrobat Pro DC.  I want to turn on the multiline option for a textbox.  I cannot get the properties pop-up to appear.  The edit tools are grayed out.

Does any have any ideas?

Which tools are grayed out? And yes, maybe the file was secured or digitally signed... Look under File - Properties - Security.

I found the problem.  Even if the form has been previously edited.  You must Prepare the form before editing it again

You need to provide more details. What are you doing, exactly, and what are the results?

I am editing a pdf, that i edited previously.  There is a multi-line textbox on the form for user comments.  It should hold about 10 lines of text.  However, I didn't have the multi-line option checked.  The last person to use the pdf told me they typed text and it just scrolled in a single line to the right of the text box.  I opened the with the intention of checking the multiline option on the properties pop-up.  Now when I edit the pdf, I can't find the properties box.  The tools are grayed out.  I was thinking the form has been protected or something like that.
