Question

Korean text won't copy properly. Again

Once again, there is a bug with copying and pasting Korean text from Adobe Acrobat DC. I believe this to be happening with other languages as well. I had the same issue last year, and a fix was issued, and all was fine. Unfortunately the same issue is back.

Whenever I try and copy Korean text from a PDF, it pastes with missing characters. For example...

Original text in PDF: 권우 씨, 요즘 운전면허 학원에 다닌다면서요?

Copied and pasted:    씨,      면  학      면  ?

I am using macOS Catalina 10.15.7 with Acrobat Reader DC 2021.011.20039.

Yes, there's a bug in the current version of Acrobat and Reader when it comes to copying text.

Try the Copy with Formatting option in the right-click menu.

If it doesn't work, try this free tool I've created to extract the textual contents of a page (or the entire document) in another way: https://www.payloadz.com/sell/ProductDetail.aspx?id=3387018

And let's just hope Adobe solves it soon...
