Measurement tool problem

In Adobe Acrobat DC I use the measuring tool often. When you set the Line properties it will save the style, thickness, colors & opacity but the "Start" and "End" line arrows are reset each time back to "Open". I make the new properties default with the Start and End as "none" but each time I create a new line the arrows return to "Open" so on each measurement I have to open the properties and reset each back to "none". This creates a lot of extra work. Is there a way to set the overall default to "None" or is there a work around. The arrows get in the way for anyone wishing to draw lines on forms.

While I haven't found a real solution, I did find a more efficient workaround. While in an open file, press ctrl+E. This opens a properties bar that stays open (it defaults to the top left corner, but you can reposition it somewhere out of your way by dragging & dropping). It has a dropdown for line ending ("Arrow"), which if you click that with a line highlighted, and then click the straight line with no arrows at the top, it removes the arrow heads from both ends of the line - in 2 quick clicks.  It's at least better than having to click the line, and then properties, and then select "none" for each line, and then click ok.

Is there any solution to this issue - I have the same issue with Acrobat Pro 2020. I do a lot of scaling for estimating of large subdivisions which requires me to draw hundreds of lines and I have to manually go in and change each line ending in the properties even though the default line ending is set to none, and I have tried choosing a line with "none" as the line ending and selecting the "make properties default" option, and evrerything else works but the line ending always defaults back to "open." So frustrating! I could cut hours off my work on a single project without having to do this. Come on Adobe fix this!

Hi GCM,

Sorry for the delay in response.

Please try selecting one of the objects drawn on the pdf > right-click > select measure preferences > default line ending > none.

You may also access this setting by going into edit > preferences >  measuring 2d > default line ending.

Feel free to update this discussion if you need any further help.

Shivam - That does not work to make it default. It keeps resetting to open. I have the exact same problem as of 01/30/2019.
