No longer able to use Acrobat Pro CS6 after installing latest Reader DC

As described by the subject, after installing the latest Acrobat Reader DC, I can no longer use Acrobat Pro CS6. It gives me an "error message" saying that I have "the latest" version whenever I want to combine files to create any document, probably because of the latest Reader DC installed. I know this because it stops happening when I uninstall DC and I can't find a previous version. ( I neglected to save a previous installers ) I have no intention of getting subscription as I am pretty satisfied with the "light" use I have for Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat Pro under the CS6 bundle I bought a while back. I have no need for the updated versions of said apps.

So my question would be if there is a fix for this issue, or is it "working as it should"?

Here's a screenie. If I have to actually subscribe to adobe in order to use something that I "purchased" albeit almost a decade ago and that I don't even use that much, is pretty scummy.

To my knowledge, if you have Pro and Reader installed together, they have to be the same version.

After you uninstalled Reader, did you reinstall CS6? Some of the shared files are probably too new.

Don't uninstall CS6--I don't think you won't be able to activate it.

As of today, CS6 acticvation / disactivation still works. ( just tried it today ) And throughout the years I have used the latest Reader DC with CS6 installed on the same PC, and I have never incountered this. This would be the very first time I ever see this message. I have even activated and disactivated CS6 multiple times whenever I needed to reinstal windows from one machine to the other thoughout the years. But even if that was the case, I can't fathom why both apps would have to be sinced in such a destructive way as that.

Glad activation still working for you. To be safe, I would assume that the CS6 activation servers won't be available in the [near] future. Don't deactivate until you know the servers are still running.

I would install Reader on a separate system to prevent conflicts. Perhaps the Reader issue is a recent one. I've always kept them both updated.
