Hi,

afer updating to Sonoma I'm not able to print in Acrobat. The Adobe Distiller is opening automatically and then the following error occurs:

A PDF file cannot be created from the following file:

/var/folders/wl/rf9rt6y96jd46gqsn6h12zbw0000gn/T/PSbmDDom.tmp

For details on how to use the Adobe PDF settings: Standardqualität

see the log file

Does someone know a hint how to solve the problem? Printing with adobe reader ist possible.

Even though, when checking for updates, I was told I had the latest version of Acrobat Pro I found an “optional update” at https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/ReleaseNotesDC/continuous/dccontinuousoct2023.html#dccontinuousocttwentytwentythree

Downloaded the optional update and problem solved.

Hi @William32690473cg3m

Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out.

Our engineering team is aware of this issue and we're eager to work together to resolve it. I have shared more details with you in a private message, please check.

Please collect the print logs as described here https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/collect-print-logs-for-acrobat.html and share them via any cloud storage. Just upload the log file to the cloud and generate the link and share that link with us for further investigation.

Also as a workaround, please try to print the PDF as an image. Open the PDF > Go to Print > Advanced > Print as an Image

Let us know how it goes.

I copied and pasted pdf into a work doc and then printed successfully

I am also having this same issue. I opened the Word document on my iPhone, "exported" the document to .pdf, and then saved the export to my Files app. The Word document "printed" perfectly to .pdf, and I could almost immediately use the new .pdf document on my Macbook.

I also still can't print PDF after installing Sonoma

I have the same - even after re-installation of Adobe Acrobat Pro, no printing or pdf's possible. Distiller hangs immediately.
No beta version, but full, updated, versions... We need a solution soon.

i can not print after update macos sonoma

When I try to print, I get a message that says "the document could not be printed" and when I accept, another message appears "there were no pages selected to print."
I don't know if the same thing happens to anyone. You must wait for a macos update or it is necessary for Acrobat to solve the problem.
PS: When you put "print as image" it does let me print but I don't want to print my documents with that option.

They ended Postscript support, so the only way to get around this is to print as an image. Click Advanced and hit the "Print as Image." Article on what happened to PS on Sonoma. https://eclecticlight.co/2023/09/25/postscripts-sudden-death-in-sonoma/

"Print as image" is greyed out and unable to be selected.

It is now Sept 28th and I have downloaded the full version (NOT BETA) of Sonoma which was released two days ago.  I am unable to print documents first receiving a pop up message that says, "The document could not be printed". Clicking 'OK' on that dialogue box then results in another pop up box that says,

"There were no pages selected to print."

I have selected "all" pages to print so that can't be the issue.

Can anyone please advise how to correct this.  Seems to be an Adobe issue with Sonoma compatibility.

I'm having the same problem.

After I posted that I was having this problem, I saw the solution embedded in the thread. I re-installed Adobe Acrobat Reader and can now print.

There's no support for beta versions. Wait for the full release, and then report any issues you encounter.
