    The PDF/A-1a (and all the -a versions) REQUIRE accessibility - it's what the -a stands for. So a PDF/A-1a file without tags can't be valid at all. Acrobat should refuse to save it. Strange.

    @Be2

    PDF/A = the standard for Archival data. It has nothing to do with tags.

    It is not the same as the PDF/UA standard, which is for universal accessibility.

    Hi

    Hopefully you can help then

    If I am saving for accessibility reasons, which PDF version on Adobe Acrobat should I be saving as ??

    Surely though regardless of which version I save as the tags should remain as screen readers use them?

    @Be2, Adobe has not put a standard export selection for PDF/UA. Don't know why, we've been asking for it for years.

    So, you'll have to check off the options to make it an accessible PDF. Which software program are you exporting from?

    I've moved this from the Using the Community forum (which is the forum for issues using the forums) to the Acrobat forum so that proper help can be offered.

    Hi

    Can you tell us which Adobe application you're using so we can move the thread to the correct forum.
