When I try download a pdf from a website, it keeps shwoing me an error message saying the file is already open or in use, but it is not.

It requires me to retry about 20 times before allowing the download and its too time consuming.

I already tried rebooting pc, reinstalling adobe acrobat reader DC, scanning for virrusses, etc it still don't work.

Can somebody please help me get this problem solved.

Hi Trevor,

Thank you reaching out.

As you have mentioned, you are trying to download the PDF from a website. Please ensure that you are not opening it directly from the website. Try to download the PDF and save it locally on the machine. Then try to open in the application.

If the issue still occurs, let us know abou the website from where you are trying to download the PDF.

Let us know how it goes.

Regards,

Meenakshi

Good day,

I am downloading it from the CambriLearn website. It is assignments submitted by students that I must mark for them as their teacher.

The link is different for every student. This is an example of one :

https://www.cambrilearn.com/users/student_tracker/d0aeb7da-00f9-40fa-9a56-1791c25d6e20/cambrilearn/international-gcse/mathematics-2020-0580

It shows this error message.

I have tried everything and nothing works. The problem is with Adobe Reader program. I need urgent help as soon as possible I cannot keep on struggling like this it is creating so much stress and is going to cause me to lose my job as my work gets further and further behind.

I cannot first save and then open as the student name and details is auto inserted into the upload so cannot relabel everything and search for files etc. Time is of the essence, the classes are very big.

Is there perhaps an alternative program I can use that works better than Adobe?

Please help.
