Hello everyone,
I'm facing a challenge while attempting to integrate a new PDF document into an existing one that already contains important bookmarks that I'd like to preserve. Specifically, I'm looking to insert the new PDF at a designated bookmark location without importing the new bookmarks from the inserted document. A longer workaround I have found is to delete the bookmarks from the PDF I am adding before insertion. However, considering that I need to repeat this process with hundreds of documents, I'm hoping to find a more time-efficient method that wouldn't risk corrupting the original bookmarks. How can I achieve this? Your insights would be greatly appreciated!

How are you currently doing it? Because as far as I recall if you use the Insert Pages command (NOT Insert File!) it should not carry over the bookmarks with it.

Thank you for the response. Bookmarks carry over if I use the method illustrated below:

Try dragging the pages from the Pages panel of the one file to that of the other and dropping them in the desired location.

Are you speaking about the "Page Thumbnails" page? That's usually how I merge files. My usual approach involves dragging files from the file explorer into the Page Thumbnails section, where I can drop them in the desired location but this preserves bookmarks.
If I open both files and drag pages from one to the other, the bookmarks don't transfer over. However, This method necessitates opening the document and consumes just as much time as removing the bookmarks, as I initially mentioned in the original post.

The only other option I can think of is by using a script, which I know won't copy the bookmarks over.

Sadly, is what I feared. Fortunately a relatively simple script. Thank you so much for time.
