PDF log file

Seems like we broke contact and I apologize if it took me too long to document the settings I was referring to.

I am posting a series of slides here to see if they can be useful to your case:

In windows 10 check for the following

right-click on the file you are trying to work with (in my case I named a text file "example") Clikc on the "General Tab", check the file attributes are not read-only, then click on Advance button

Next , switch to the Security tab, and check for the permissions assigned to the user accounts listed below; Everything should be checked under the "Allow" column. Then click on "Advance" button and disable the inheritance (if this apply to your case or add inheritanceto that file) If I were you , before you commit any changes here read and document yourself a little more about this setting)

Now, in your MS Excel application, with your file opened, click on "Properties" and follow the slides below:

And lastly, in your PDF Acrobat product follow the slides below:

Can you take a screenshot of the logfile that is created when you try to convert to PDF and post it back?

and which directory path is this log file archived in ?

You also mentioned trying to change to the default program... which program are you trying to default?

This might not be the answer that you would expect in these forums, but since we are in an Adobe Acrobat troublshooting forum,  if I were you, I would try and rule out first the locking issue or the issue in trying to open as administrator.

My guidance is usually (and not exactly) on the spot but it is worth it giving it a shot, specially when you have exhausted all of your guessings.

So, have you ever tried using an open source alternative like LibreOffice or OpenOffice and create the spreadsheet using any of those two office productivity suites?

You can download the whole suite or a single program for free (would this be releveant if it resolves your issue?)

Because, lets say, that if you create the same spreadsheet using opensource  software. and you can actually continue to work with your PDF , then we can narrow down the issue to a MS Office or a MS Windows issue rather than Adobe Acrobat issue. We would never know until you try it.

And again, there might be settings in your Adobe product and Windows and MS Office products that may also  need to be modifyied in order to thoruoghly be able to identify what is going on in your case

I have worked with open source software for many years now, and as a power user, I wouldn't be recommending it if I haven't tried it myself.

If learning new products and having patience doesn't bother you, you may get impressed with some features and end results that usually are not available in commercial, licensed or paid subscriptions, nor paid software.

I don't understant your question very well when you say " covert a PDF file into an excel sheet it creates a log file instead and it doesn't create the PDF."

Are you saying that you are trying to export a PDF table that you designed  in a Acrobat  to MS Excel? Or are you trying to export a MS Excel  document to Adobe Acrobat?

Wouldn't it be easier to design your spreadsheet in MS Excel first and then export to PDF direclty from MS Excel?

Then try and open it in PDF to see if you can continue using the spreadsheet and editing it  as a  PDF document.
