preflight analyze and fix won't fix soft mask issue

Question

we recieve files for printing like the one attached.

I can open the same file in nitro or even in a browser like edge and the pdf seems fine, you dont get an error message and it prints fine.

Howebver open it in acrobat, you get an error and the image doesent appear or print.

A collegue using a 2015 version of acrobat can run the preflight analyze and fix and it fixes the issue

using a clean install of acrobat now does not.

Ive also attached the "fixed: pdf.

does anyone have some suggestions - is it setting in acrobat that make it "sensitive" and how come the old verion fixes it but not the new version?

Sorry for the troubled experience and delayed response.

What happens or happens before running the clean install? Are you getting any errors when running Preflight?
What is the version of Acrobat you have on your machine? Are you getting the same error?
