Preflight image DPI check doesn't show images but "boxes"

I want to check if my images have enough DPI. So I used preflight with the profile "List page objects, grouped by type of object". But when I let preflight show me the objects with for example less than 100 dpi

it gives me a dozen "boxes" (as shown below) instead of refering to the image. Is that normal? So preflight checks the PDF in boxes rather than from image to image?

No, it checks from image to image. This means that the PDF creation tool/app divided your large image into smaller images. THIS is common, and not a problem.

Thank you for your answer! Is there a specific export option in Illustrator/Indesign or does this division into smaller images always happen?
