Print Production Tools BREAKING EVERY TIME (Color Conversion and Flatten Preview)!

Every time I try to print production a 17 pages document with Adobe Acrobat, it breaks.

When I run convert colors or flattener preview to outline text and strokes, it breaks.

I've tried page by page, it works for some time, but then it breaks again in the middle of the work.

Please, this is a huge problem with the software that must be solved asap.

I've already re-installed the app. Same issue.

It's a MacBook Pro (see attached).

Did you try this on a different workstation? Does this happen systematically on all PDF files? Can you post a test file here?

If this is happening with all files, you may need to re-install Acrobat and select "replace existing preferences". If this is just happening to one file, there may be an issue with one or more pages, it may be helpful to save as PDF/X before using the Print production tools (File> Save as other> PDF/X-4). BTW, why are you outlining the text & strokes? There is a preflight profile that will also outline the fonts.

Hi Luke!

Thanks for the comment.

  1. When I try to save as PDF X4, it says "The selected profile does not exist. Please use the Settings... button in order to select an other profile."
  2. When I try to save as PDF X1, it breaks "Acrobat quit unexpectedly. Click Reopen to open the application again. Click Report to see more detailed information and send a report to Apple."
  3. I'm outlining text & strokes for the best print results and accuracy on complex elements.
  4. The Convert fonts to outlines did work.
  5. Even after converting fonts to outlines, converting to CMYK breaks and exporting as PDFX1 also breaks.
