Printing a pdf with annotation comments- Adobe directions not working

I am trying to print a pdf downloaded from Canvas LMS that has annotations on it.  In the past we could print the document with annotations easily by selecting Document and Markups when printing.  We now do that, and it doesn't print the comments and annotations.  We have even made sure that the preferences for commenting have Print Notes and Popups checked and Hide comment pop ups turned off.

We could print this way just a few weeks ago, with no new changes to settings in Adobe Acrobat.

Hi Heatherh17805239,

Could you please confirm which version of Adobe Acrobat are you currently using?

Also this could be a file related issue so please check if this happening when you print any file with comments in it, or just this one file?

Hi Harsha,

I am using Adobe Acrobat X Pro version 10.0.0

This happens with any file that I download from Canvas LMS with comments.  We've spoke with Canvas and they cannot duplicate the issue.

Hi Heather,

Please try to flatten the file before printing and see if that works in this case.

In order to flatten the file, you can first convert it to a postscript ( click on File > Export To > Postscript > save)

and then convert it back to a pdf (File > Create > Pdf from file > Chose the .ps file you just created)

The resultant file should not have any form fields but should show all the filled information along with annotations.

Then try printing it.

I followed the instructions you listed, making it a postscript file, converting it back to a pdf and printing, the annotations are still not there
