Problem Converting Some .Tif documents to PDF With Acrobat Pro DC

Recently I have started to run into a problem converting some .Tif documents to .PDF format.  Acrobat Pro DC will not convert the docments but I can open the document in Photoshop and then save it as a .PDF with no problem. Most of these seem to have come from cell phones so I don't know if this has any bearing.

Is this a problem that can be fixed with an update or setting change for the converter?

Hi Amal,
Thank you for getting back to me. Since I posted to the community forum...I re-tried converting to searchable PDFs....and it seems to have worked. I will reach out if I continue to have problems.
Thank you
Bill

Thanks for the info. Here's another question.  I am attempting to convert .Tif files to searchable PDFs.  Sometimes it works great.  But about 40% only become partially searchable (ie: The part of the document can be searched...not the entire document).  Any thoughts on how to fix that issue?

Amal.

Hi there,

Hope you are doing well.

Would you mind sharing a small video recording and the test PDF file so we can check the issue at our end?

Also, What is the version of the Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version, go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version 23.06.20320 installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

Also, try to repair the installation from the help menu (Win Only) and see if that works.

Let us know how it goes.

Hi Michaelwr

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble. As described you are unable to create PDF from Tiff file via Acrobat Pro DC.

Would you mind sharing the version of the Adobe Acrobat Pro DC you are using? To check the version of the application go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the latest version 20.13.20074 installed. Go to Help > Check for Updates.

Do you get any error message when you try to create the PDF from Tiff file? If yes, please share the screenshot of the same for a better understanding. Also, please try with a different tiff file and check.

Please try to create the PDF from the file menu of Adobe Acrobat DC. Go to File > Create > PDF from File and see if that helps.

If it still doesn't work, please try to create the PDF file using the online link: https://documentcloud.adobe.com/link/acrobat/jpg-to-pdf?x_api_client_id=adobe_com&x_api_client_location=jpg_to_pdf and see if that helps.

Regards

Amal

The Version is: 2015.006.30527 and checking for updates says that there are
no updates.

When I try to convert some .Tiff files using the Create a PDF from any
format tool it says that it is an unsupported file type. I can open the
file in any viewer but can only convert it to a .PDF file using PhotoShop.
This does not happen with all .TIFF files and most of them seem to have
been from a photo taken with a cell phone. This problem just started to
occur in the last couple of weeks.

Hi there

Thank you for sharing the observation. As mentioned the issue occurs with some tiff files and not with all of them. It seems to be a file specific issue. Would you mind sharing the particular Tiff file with us for testing? Please upload the file to the document cloud https://documentcloud.adobe.com/link/home/  , generate the link and share that link with us.

Also, Adobe Acrobat 2015 is an EOLappplication. For mor einformation please check the help page: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/end-of-support-acrobat-2015-reader-2015.html
