I created a fillable form in Acrobat with drop down menues. When the form is filled out and reopened in Foxit the form fields change to something else. How do I fix this?

This is not a real issue.

The default highlight color settings are not the same in Acrobat Reader and Foxit Reader, it is up to the user to hide or set them.

Alternatively, you can use a JavaScript when the file is opened to override the user's preferences, but this is not a good practice until you restore them when the document is closed.

Can you share this form?

Foxit Reader or Foxit PDF Editor?

Contact the developers of Foxit and report this bug to them.

@loris45933410, First, check the form field's properties to ensure you've designated the font correctly in the PDF.

Second, this could be a shortcoming/bug in Foxit; it's up to Foxit to process the form fields and render them correctly to the end user.

Because the PDF file format is now open source, any company can create a program to open, read, and "process" PDF files (called a "PDF processor"). Foxit is one of hundreds of such companies, as well as Adobe.

Although each company should follow and adhear to the international standards on how to make PDFs that work with all programs from different vendors, in reality, some companies do a better job than others. There are no "PDF police" to cite companies who don't follow the PDF standards.

In my firm's testing and review of PDF-related programs, Foxit has some shortcomings in how compliantly it makes PDFs (PDF producer) and processes them (PDF processor). Forms and accessibility are two areas that show shortcomings.

To be fair, Adobe Acrobat and Reader have their shortcomings, too. No one company's products are 100% compliant with the PDF standards.

As @try67 said, contact Foxit directly with the discrepency you've discovered. https://kb.foxitsoftware.com/hc/en-us and www.forums.foxitsoftware.com.

HI,

Can you share screenshots of the issue?

Can you also give us more details about Foxit ?

I attached examples. If you look under the first column (single or pair) some of the form fields come up different in when opened in Foxit than if you open in Adobe which is correct. I don't know anything about Foxit.
