Question

"add-on tools"

Hi - I need to duplicate a page in a pdf form with unique field names in new generated pages. I understand there is an "add-on tool" in the tool bars (it looks like a yello lego) that would allow such. But I am missing it and can't find. I am using Acrobat Pro on my laptop, Windows 11.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, Wendy

Add-on tools are customized toolbar buttons created with a script and stored in the JavaScripts folder so they run at start up.  If you search Add-on Tools in the Tools search (new Acrobat disabled) and open it, you should see the tool if it exists.  You can also bring the tool into your regular toolbar by right-clicking the toolbar and selecting Customize Quick Tools.  This video shows you how.  However, if you don't have the tool it probably creates a template from the current page and then spawns that template, which will create unique field names if the bRename parameter is set to true or ommitted (the default).

Thanks - but I don't have the "add-on tools" in the "Customize Quick Tools" options panel, nor in the general tools panel. (see screenshots).

I am using Adobe Pro (64-bit).  What am I missing? THANK YOU!

You won't see it until you install a script file that adds an item to it.

I think the script you're referring to is this one, created by me:

Note it's a paid-for tool, though.

Yessssssssssssssss - that is exactly what I want to do. I will report back on my success - thank you!
