I am using Adobe Acrobat X Pro. I am usable to run OCR (recognize tex) in my PDF becuase it is larger than the maximum allowed size of 45 inches by 45 inches. How do I reduce the page size?

In Acrobat X it was not possible to do it using the Preflight tool. You would to use a script to do it, or to "re-fry" the the files (print them to a new PDF), although that latter option should be avoided if possible.

I've created two (paid-for) tools to scale PDF files, one to do so proportionally and another non-proportionally. You can find them here:

You can run an Acrobat preflight fixup to reduce the size (I think this was available in Acrobat X). Tools> Print Production> Preflight> Fixups. Another option is to place your PDF into an InDesign file, scale it, export to a new PDF (do not downsample).

I do not see any reference to "Scale pages" in Prefligth | PDF fixups. Is there another place it would be?

I don't have Acrobat X, so I can't say if it exists, do you see a search area in the Preflight panel? if so, type in Scale. If you take a screen shot of your preflight panel, that might jog my memory.
