Restrict Navigation to Buttons Only (with links to bookmarked pages within the pdf)

Good Morning,

Is it possible in Adobe Pro DC to Restrict Navigation to Buttons Only (with links to bookmarked pages within the pdf)?  We want to prevent the user from scrolling, etc, and the buttons to be the users only method of navigating the document.

Note: The in5 plug-in for InDesign is able to restrict navigation to buttons only.  However, the document is then Web Published with no DRM Protection...and we need the final document to be protected.

Thank you!

Yes it's possible.

The trick is to replace the pages with layers, so the document contains only one page and several layers.

Then navigation is restricted to the buttons that show/hide layers, instead of going to a page.

It's all the easier for you since you have InDesign (which exports the layers to PDF) to design the document. Just keep in mind that in PDF format the form fields, and therefore the buttons, are not attached to a layer, they float on top of all the layers.

"We will try JR Boulay's solution (above) first, but we are hoping to use links back to Shopify products page, as well as many button links for navigation within the pdf. "

So you may want to use my another method wich I mentionned in my first reply in this topic:

Yes, that's a better option, although it has its own set of complications, especially if you have form fields or links.

It is, in a way, using a script that overrides the Page Close event of each page and switches the view back to the original page, but it's cumbersome and very user-unfriendly. I don't recommend you do it.

Thank you for your reply.  Would you please provide more details as to how using a script that overrides the Page Close event of each page (and switches the view back to the original page) is cumbersome and user-unfriendly.  Is it painfully slow?
