I need to make a small text edit to a PDF and unable to make the change in InDesign. I open the PDF in Acrobat and press the Edit button. Now some images automatically rotate and I am unable to correct this. How can I prevent this?

I had the same problem. I'm using version 22.0 and I think I just found a solution.
When you edit the PDF in the panel on the left under the heading 'Scanned Document' there is a check box that says 'Recognize Text'. I unchecked this box and the rotate error corrected itself.
You can still edit the text on the page.
I think it's only for identifying text on scanned pages so if your document is created digitally then it should be fine to turn it off.
Hope this helps.

I cannot edit the image. Adobe Acrobat breaks the image apart in a way that is not easy to edit. If I wanted the image I could just export the images from the PDF.
Is there a way to click Edit but NOT have Acrobat scan the PDF for images to make editable?
A quick fix is for me to hit "Edit" then keep on pressing "Esc" to cancel the page recognition process. This allows Acrobat to read text but cancels reading the images. If I go back to press Edit, Acrobat does not try to read the images again.
