I have gone into preferences multiple times and unticked the boxes in prefences/general/messages from Adobe...the same applies for the 'tell me if adobe is not my default....' feature, but everytime I restart adobe, the boxes are ticked!
I have tried as standard user and administartor, but they reset to being ticked!
This was not the case when I had the free version and is very frustrating.

Thanks for the details, and you’re right: Disabling the splash (welcome) screen in Acrobat Pro via the UI sometimes doesn’t work. You can enforce it via the Windows Registry using Adobe’s FeatureLockDown policies.
Open the Registry Editor
Press Win + R, type regedit, and press Enter.
Navigate to (on 64‑bit Windows):
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
└─ SOFTWARE
└─ WOW6432Node
└─ Policies
└─ Adobe
└─ Adobe Acrobat
└─ DC
└─ FeatureLockDown
Note: If you don’t see FeatureLockDown, right‑click the DC key, choose New ▶ Key, and name it FeatureLockDown.
Create or modify the DWORD value
In the FeatureLockDown key, right‑click in the right pane and select New ▶ DWORD (32‑bit) Value.
Name it: bToggleFTE
Let us know how it works at your end.

Hi Tariq
I am afraid it didn't work. I also restarted the PC, and went into acrobat to change the preferences again, but it still reverts to showing the splash screens...

Hi Thanks.
When I run adobe as an admin, the plash screens are disabled in settings (great), but I cannot run as an admin all the time...
I like your final comment 'If issues persist, contact Adobe Support'...HOW? I have not been able to find out where to contact them, hence why I am on this forum!
Best regards

HI
I still dont have a solution to this small but annoying issue.
it seems that adobe only allows admins to chage preferences, or the reg key edit only works for admins...not sure...
THanks in hope!

Hope you are doing well. Sorry for your experience with the welcome splash screen on Acrobat.
Adding to the comments by Tariq, would you mind adding another DWord to the same location:
Dword: bWhatsNewExp
Value: 1
You can refer to this article for reference: https://adobe.ly/4mqyLgr.
Hope this helps.

Souvik.

That's strange. Can you share a screenshot of the registry location from the registry editor from your device?
Also, a screen recording of how Acrobat launches while the keys are added?
This will help us investigate the issue better.

Souvik.

Thanks for sharing the screenshot.
But on the screen recording, I cannot see the Acrobat window on launch.
Can you please check and reshare the recording?
Look forward to hearing from you.

Souvik.

Thanks for this.
Since you already have the registry values set, would you mind trying out a few steps:
1. Reset the Acrobat preferences as described here https://adobe.ly/43RHK2U...
2. Restart the computer once.
Let me know how it goes.

Souvik.

Hi, I tred the above suggested but it did not work.
I then completely uninstalled and re-installed it appears to be okay - problem solved.

Thanks for confirming that it worked for you.
The reason for it not working initially could be because of corrupt preference files.
Uninstalling the app and then re-installing reset those files too, thus leading to the registry keys doing their work.

Souvik.
