Question

Tabbing between grouped radio buttons

I have a fillable form that I converted from excel and I have 2 sets of grouped radio buttons on different pages.  Both sets are required.  The first set has 2 buttons.  The second set has 4 buttons.  The first set will allow the user to tab from the 1st to the 2nd button and then to the next field.  The second set will only land on the 1st button and then skips the other three buttons and goes to the next field.  Besides more buttons and a different group name (and radio button choices), the only difference is that the second set is the 1st field on the page and thus the 1st in the tab order on that page while the 1st set is 32nd in the tab order.

1st set - Name is Group 2, button style is circle and Radio Button Choice is Choice1Yes for 1st button and Choice1No for 2nd button

2nd set - Name is Group 5, button style is circle and Radio Button Choice is Choice1 for 1st button, Choice2 for 2nd button, Choice3 for 3rd button and Choice4 for 4th button.

What am I missing?

TIA!

Jennifer

I have been try to create what you acidentally created, where in the first grouped radio buttons it allows the user to tab from the 1st to the 2nd button and then to the next field. Could I get a copy of this Adobe Fill In Form. I clicked on the Link: Form R-4 2016-17 Fillable test.pdf - Google Drive but it errored out.

Thanks

You can't use the tab to move between radio-buttons in a group. You can use the arrow keys to do it, though.

If you really wish to use use tab you would need to convert your radio-buttons to check-boxes. They can work the same way if the fields have the same name (but different export values), but they are still considered to be individual fields and not parts of a group, so the tab key works with them.

Thanks for the prompt response.  That's what is weird.  The first set does tab through to each button. Here's a link to the file.

Form R-4 2016-17 Fillable test.pdf - Google Drive

The first set that works correctly is on page 1 and the second set that doesn't work is on page 6.

That is weird... I'm not sure what's going on there, but it's not how it

normally behaves. The group on page 6 is how it normally works.

You'll notice that it only works tabbing forward, though. If you press

Shift+Tab from the No option it jumps back to the previous field

("NumberTeamsCurrentunderrepresented"), not to the Yes option...
