Text Box Fill Color Adobe Acrobat XI Standard

I was recently upgraded to Adobe Acrobat XI Standard. The previous version I was using was 9.0 Pro. One problem I am having with the new version is when I go to create a text box, I cannot seem to give the text box a fill color. In adobe 9.0 I could just click on the text box and hit "CTRL+E" in order to bring up the properties and change the text box properties (along with the text itself). Is there a way to change the text box color in Adobe XI Standard?

What tool are you using to add this "text box"? You should be adding a text

box, in Form Edit mode, if you want to be able to change its fill color.

I've been the Content Editing "add text" tool. I tried adding a text box in Form Edit mode, but every time the text dialog box appears for me to write text, Adobe crashes and closes before I can add/edit the text box.

The Add Text tool will not allow you to set fill color. You need to use a

form field for that. Maybe try repairing the installation of Acrobat if it

keeps crashing.
