Text pasted from elsewhere into comments retains formatting and appears illegibly small

Acrobat's comments appear small, and I set the font size for comments to 14 or 18 pt.
However, I often have to paste text from other documents into comments, and this text retains formatting and displays very small. When pasting 8 pt text from footnotes, they become illegible.
Is there a way to cure this (perhaps by pasting without formatting)?

So, you must paste the text into a text editor (Notepad, Textedit…) to make it lose its attributes, then cut and paste into Acrobat.

Thanks, yes that seems to be the only solution. I was hoping there was a
way in Acrobat to cut out this step.

Use CTRL-Shift-V to paste without formatting.

Thanks for your response.
I've tried Ctrl-Shift-V (as in InDesign) but it doesn't work, and it's not
a menu option. InDesign has various paste options in the Edit menu: Paste,
Paste without formatting, Paste into, and Paste in place, all with their
shortcuts, but Acrobat has none of that, so as far as I can see it's not an
option.
