Question

Trouble using Go to specific page number direction Ctrl * G.

A Aotomobile service manual I have opens in Adobe. I want to go to a specific page in the manual. I typed the page number into a box which opened a small window saying "Go to specific page Gtrl * G." I tried hitting Ctrl and G and nothing happened, except what I typed disappeared and the old/former number returned.

How do I get that command to work? Thanks

I don't believe this is a valid command in Acrobat/Reader, at least not any longer. Maybe it was in the past.

Shift+Ctrl+N should open the "Go to page number" dialog, though. Or you could simply use the toolbar at the top of the page and enter the page number, then Enter.

Hello! Thanks for your post.

As you suggested, I used the box to put in the page number that I wanted. As
I wrote earlier, nothing happened, until after a long wait and then the
correct page appeared. So thank you for verifying my intuition. 🙂

I suspect that my computer is struggling to move to the page I enter because
it is slow moving through the content of the CD. I will check with the
publisher of the CD about that problem.

Thanks very much.

Copy the file to your computer and open it from there.
