Trouble with combining files - no longer allowing to choose "open files"

Was there an update to Adobe that has affected the ability to combine files.  I'm sent multiple PDF documents daily, which I combine into packages.  It used to be that I could open all of the PDFs and click "Combine" and one of the options was to select open files.  The open file option no longer exists or isn't available.  Now, in order to combine, I have to download the PDFs to my laptop first, before selecting each PDF individually and combining.
