Unable to resize image in adobe pro

I apologize for posting this again, but I still can't get an imagine to resize in a pdf I'm editing in Adobe Pro.  I have used this product for years and it was as simple as grabbing the arrow on the corner of the image and resizing it. I can't imagine why this no longer works. I can only move the image with my arrows on the keyboard and not my mouse.  Hopefully someone has identified the problem and can share... this is so frustrating as it's something I have done thousands of times.

  • If you recently updated your Acrobat, go to help>repair installation

^ This worked for me. Thankyou so much

It is definitely the "New Experience" downgrade.  Just go to menu, select Disable New Acrobat.  Restart, and everything works perfectly.

Hi @Dana35486919y7pm,

I tried the same workflow and was successfully able to drag and resize the image.

Adding a screen recording of the same for reference.

You might want to try Menu-> Help-> Repair Installation.

I have this exact same issue too. Many people here say that it can be fixed with Help > Repair Installation. I'm on Mac. How do I find this?

Editing in Acrobat is intolerably bad now. Nothing is intuitive and everything is cumbersome involving lots of undo's because stuff rotates randomly and AI loves to screw with inserted images.

Resizing is the most common thing one does and yet you cannot find a simple method of resizing. The best option is to convert to another format and go to another company's program then export back to PDF. Wow how flipping stupid.

If it's a PDF file that I received from someone else then what, export it to MS Word? And then convert it back to PDF when everthing's done? In that case I might as well cancel my expensive Adobe subscription and just use the freebie?

What what about the high security forms created in PDF by tax authorities and banks in which only certain fields are editable?

Thanks

Precisely. I need to insert images. The program suggested using Adobe Express so I took that suggestion and it opened a browser window. What an amature mess that app is. Could I do what I needed there? No.

The correct answer is if you only are paying for Acrobat, cancel it. Stick with Word and export to PDF. Adobe is effectively destroying the brand in 2024. Acrobat is a hot mess and the other apps are buggy.

Seems to be an issue with the "new adobe experience".  Managed to fix it on my side by going back to the original it seems.
For what they charge you'd think they do better than this

Was going bananas with same issue! Following worked: DO NOT SET DOCUMENT ON EDIT. Add signature on document with stamp and resize.

This is still an issue in June 2024.  What's the solution Adobe?

Deleting!

Can you delete this comment please. The problem is real and your comment doesn't solve anything, clicking on it just threw me out of the forum to the extent that I had to find the forum again via Google search.

Hi all
So I was having the exact same issue, but I have a work around - if you are trying to add a picture on top of a picture it wont work.  So for example, I was trying to add my signature to a scanned document (which was also coming into adobe as a picture).

So I drag the underneath picture over to one side slightly (in my case the form that needs signature).  Drag it over enough so that you have some white space at the edge

Then drag your picture you need to resize (in my case my signature) over so part of it is in the white space, then you will see the corder draggers to resize will appear....

then simply drag your under picture back into position.

Bit of flaff but at least it works 🙂  Hope it does for you too

Awesome! This works! You are more helpful than the Adobe team. Thanks for sharing.

Having the same issue! Its so friggin frustrating to be using something for years and then be completely immobilized.  WTF.  Not able to resize images, popups come in at crucial moments that you have to close, the programs freezes up all the time.  This horrible.

Exactly the same problem.  Have done this on documents many times.  Now, can't resize at all, can only reposition if using the arrows, can't grab text I've added to reposition (have to delete, reposition the insertion point and try again, multiple times)...

However, I did the "Repair Installation" fix suggested and it "seems" to have corrected the issue.  Will revisit once I've worked with a few more documents to test.

I'm having to do the "Repair" about every other week, but it does work again after that step.

The control panel on my computer doesn't give an option of "repair". I can only uninstall it. I did uninstall but now I can't find a place to download the app. It appears I can only download monthly subscription. What a scam!

Weird that you can't drag to resize.  I just tried it and was able to resize by just dragging.  Was your Acrobat "upgraded" to the New Experience.  If so, you can revert back.
