Question

Unnecessary to Open PDFs Twice

Hello,

I use Adobe practically every day for my job and the new system/interface is frustrating. Last week I had the ability to go back to the older version, but found that the option was gone this morning. Every time I open a PDF, I get the window I screenshotted and attached; however, I still have to click Open Document to access the file needed.

This is extremely frustrating and could save time if I could just open the document for viewing right away; I tried changing options in my preferences, but couldn't find anything that was working. I use Adobe for payroll and payment processing along with my colleagues; we're often working under strict deadlines so having to waste time opening a file twice just to view it does not work for us.

I appreciate any insight or help that can be provided; I'm almost tempted to use a different program at this point just to save time.

The option to switch back to the old UI is under [File] > [Disable new Acrobat].

I'm wondering how you're opening PDF files that you wouldn't see the document itself but the home screen. Can you explain your process?

I'm getting this window whether I right-click and select open with Adobe or double click the PDF to open it. I've never had this issue before, so not sure what exactly changed if anything.

Well, that's how I'm doing it too. The document should be viewed directly. Have you tried to change the settings in the [General] tab of the [Preferences]? You can find them in the [Menu],
