Updating Adobe Acrobat XI

Hello,

I have a MacBook Pro (MacOS mojave version 10.14.2). I also have Adobe Acrobat Pro XI (Version 11.0.23). When I open adobe and try to go to the "help" tab, "check for updates," I get the error message: "Cannot connect to adobe update server." I am connected to the internet and have no issues updating other programs. I tried to google this and look on the adobe forums, and could not find an applicable solution to adobe acrobat pro XI. Any assistance would be appreciated! Thank you in advance. (I am trying to update because my mac keeps giving me pop-ups that soon my current version of adobe will not work with my version of OS.)

The pop ups should say it won’t work with the NEXT Mac OS. 11.0.23 is the final update to Acrobat XI, which is out of support and will never be updated to work with the next Mac OS. Acrobat Pro DC (subscription) and Acrobat Pro 2017 (perpetual license, not recommended) are available.

You say you have no need to upgrade to DC... well, if you upgrade to Mac OS 10.15 later this year you ABSOLUTELY will need to upgrade to DC because XI will not work, Apple have decided it.

But for now: I guess you see "Acrobat" on the menu bar after trying to open the file, but no file? If so, use Window > Tile > Horizontal. Fixes it for many.

Thanks, I will be sure to hold off OS updates later.

Hello. After I upgraded to Mojave 10.14.2, my Acrobat Pro XI stopped working. Nothing happens when I tried opening a pdf. So I uninstalled and reinstalled with the latest XI download. It failed to install. Now I have no Acrobat to use. I have no need to upgrade to DC. Is this failure to install a know issue with Mojave 10.14.2?
