Question

User getting security warnings when clicking on link to files on the local network

Hello,

I have a user who is linking files that are located on our local network from within her PDF documents.  Whenever she clicks on one of these links in the PDF a security warning pops up and asks her to allow or block the linked file from opening.  We want ALL files located on the local network to be "allowed" without notification.  I tried adding the host names where the files are located in the security settings and the trust manager, but the security warning message still occurs.  How can I stop this warning message and allow all files lined on our local network to be opened?

Thanks

Thanks

Hi,

Are you sayinf that disabling "Protected View at Startup" in the "Security(Enhanced)" settings doesn't do anything?

Also, is the local network administered with any kind of Group Policy?

I am thinking that, in addition to all other settings that you've tried, to also check the Internet Zones and adjust accordingly based on the shared network folder restrictions.

You may need to manually add the desired folders as priveleged locations(but I may be wrong, maybe this is not the case).

But anyway, see slide below, specifically the tick box "Automatically trust sites from my Win OS security zones":
