It is hard to say what exactly creating the issue.
However, you may try some troubleshooting steps provided below:
- Make sure that the application is updated to the latest version available. Go to Help > Check for updates (Check here for the latest updates for the application Release Notes | Adobe Acrobat, Reader)
- Try once to repair the installation. Go to Help > Repair installation (only for Windows)
- Check if you are using the latest drivers for the Scanner. (Refer to this help document Troubleshoot PDF printing in Acrobat and Reader)
- You may also try to reset the application preferences. Use the steps provided here How to reset Acrobat Preference settings to default.
