wrong dimensions when convert to pdf

hi,

I have a .tif file which comes from Adobe Photoshop 26.3 (Macintosh) with the following dimensions:

Width - 40 mm

Height - 17 mm

XResolution - 525.15 ppi

YResolution - 525.15 ppi

When I convert this file to pdf format using Acrobat Pro 2024 (Create PDF from File) the result is the wrong dimensions: 40 x 25.4 mm, instead of 40 x 17 mm.

Why is this happening?

I opened the .tif file in Photoshop and Illustrator (Windows 11) and the dimensions displayed is correct: 40 x 17 mm.

I tested with the TIFF image you attached and found that after converting it to PDF, exporting via Save As (right-click menu) or Convert to Image (with "Export All Images" checked) retains the original image dimensions.

If I'm not mistaken, you might be comparing the image dimensions to the page size (bottom left corner values). Since images adjust to fit the page, this could lead to inaccurate results. Let me know if you observe otherwise.

sorry, we're getting off the original topic.
If the dimensions of the .TIFF file are 40 × 17 mm (width and height), why the heck is the MediaBox size 40 × 25.4 mm after conversion with Adobe Acrobat?
I’m referring to the MediaBox size, not the object dimensions...

The minimum is 1 x 1 inches.

if you look in the bottom left corner and you don't see the page size, you have to go to Edit - Preferences - Page Display and check "Always show document page size"

In Acrobat the minimum is 1 inch.

The best practice is to save as a PDF directly in Photoshop.

the best practice for me is to convert PDF files from the Windows context menu "Combine files in Acrobat", but I understand that I can't convert files smaller than 1 inch using this method, as Bernd Alheit correctly pointed out.

Hi @Urraco37,

Can you please ensure you checked the "Preserve embedded profiles" option while creating PDF from tiff. Also, can you please share the file with us on which this issue is happening.
