Acrobat Reader DC crashing in Windows 7

This happens on 2 different PC's so far. Both Windows 7. When you open Reader. it immediately crashes. Saying a generic Windows error code. Something like 0x000000c2.

I tried reinstalling Acrobat Reader, and repairing/reinstalling Microsoft C+ 2013 per some othhr articles and it didn't fix the issue.

I fixed it on one PC by doing system restore. The other system restore wasn't enabled. So how do I fix it there?

I have done everything listed above. It did not resolve the issue. Only system restore has worked so far.

I'm an IT support provider. I had it happen on 2 different computers in 2 different locations. That can't be a coincidence.

    Hello Jonathanb,

We're sorry for the trouble you had with Adobe Reader, please reboot the machine once, and check for any pending updates of Windows, install all the updates, reboot the machine again.

Use Acrobat cleaner tool to remove Adobe Reader Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs

Reboot the machine and install Adobe Reader from Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution

If the issue still persists, please create a test user profile with full admin rights and install Adobe Reader.

Let us know how it goes and share your observation.

    Thanks,

    Anand Sri.
