Gents, Microsoft released KB5004760 which fixes the PDF issue.

  • Updates an issue that might prevent you from opening PDFs using Internet Explorer 11 or apps that use the 64-bit version of the WebBrowser control. Additionally, a PDF might render as just a gray background when using the Adobe Acrobat plug-in.

I am currently testing the KB.

I can confirm that the Adobe Previewer issue in our Syteline App is once again working normally after this update. It looks like the issue has been resolved.

I can confirm the patch worked for our software as well.  Thanks for letting us know!

Had a very similar issue today, not sure if it is related to the KB or not. Same issue - Adobe Reader plug in not working in a WPF VB.NET "webbrowser" control (it is a 32-bit program). Unfortunately the KB5004760

that fixes the problem said it was "not applicable" to my machine when I tried to apply it manually. I'm running Windows 21H1. Also I couldn't find the problematic KB on my computer to uninstall - seemed like I was going to be stuck.

Uninstalling and re-installing Arcrobat DC on my computer fixed the issue. I redownloaded Acrobat DC from Adobe's website. I rebooted between uninstalling the old one and reinstalling the new one. No idea what was  but whatever my problem was today seemed to be more Adobe related than IE related.
