Adobe Chrome Extension displaying double when pdf has initial view set to Fit Page

We set all our pdfs to have an inital view of "fit page" and have never had an issue. This week we were notified by web visitors (who were all using the chrome extension) that they were seeing a double first page, one small and one full screen size. Anyone not using the exension did not see this issue. I did some testing and discovered if I change the initial view setting to "default" and reloaded the pdf to our site, this no longer happens.

Anyone else see this happening? Is there a way to tell if the extension was recently updated and thus the bug was introduced?
