Adobe Reader won't display PDF in IE Browser Window

I am using Adobe Reader XI and Internet Explorer v. 11.0.9600.17280.

I have tried uninstalling and re-installing Adobe.  I've also checked IE Add-Ins and all Adobe Reader Add-Ins are enabled.

However, you're poorly written software STILL WILL NOT display PDFs in browser any more.

I need help, but since you're software is so horrible, you do not offer typical technical support.

PLEASE HELP!

the fix is: goto manage add-ons-(all add ons)-disable all adobe entrys. then when you get a pdf on a web page it will give you a bar at bottom of screen to open pdf in adobe reader.

This worked for me:

PDF files won't open in Internet Explorer 11, only shows small black box. Any help? | Technical Forum

It basically says add this value to your registry.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\TabProcGrowth =1

Shay!

Resetting IE seems to have worked for now.  I'll update this thread if it stops working, but I think you found the trick!  Thanks!

Unfortunately resetting IE Settings is only a TEMPORARY SOLUTION.  I'm not certain if it's a reboot that starts the issue all over again or just time, but now I'm back to square one.  I CAN NOT keep resetting IE settings just because Adobe cannot code a stable plug-in!

Instead of labeling the software "poorly written" it would be a lot more useful if you provided some information.

Pat,

As they say, if the shoe fits....  Most reputable companies, even those distributing free or open source software, provide at least some basic support (even if it's just e-mail).  But no, Adobe makes us post in these forums.  So if you think you can be of assistance with "some information" why don't you tell me what information your looking for?

You write "STILL WILL NOT display PDFs in browser"; what exactly happens instead?

I have several users at my site that have this same issue. If I disable the add in and re-enable the add in it will work for a day or so but eventually will stop working and PDFs will open outside the browser. We are also using IE 11 and Windows 8.1. Has anyone had permanent success with this one?
