Can no longer edit properties with Acrobat

We just updated to Adobe Acrobat Reader (Version 2022.003.20263 64-bit for Windows), and I can no longer edit Document Properties (Control D) in PDFs. All fields are grayed out.

This is definitely Acrobat I'm using and not just Reader. It's a little confusing since DC (whatever that stood for) is no longer at the end of the app's name, so most of the discussions and questions about this issue are now kaput, since they refer to previous versions.

If this isn't fixed, we can no longer post PDFs to our site, since we have strict metadata standards.

Apparently, even though I have Adobe Acrobat Pro in my Creative Cloud account, just plain Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on my machine.

I just uninstalled the old one and reinstalled and--viola!--now I have the Pro version.

So, problem solved.
