Hello,

After last update of Adobe Reader DC (15.017.20050) we have big problems with open PDF files. Some language characters are not displayed (like ż or ł) and we have error: "Cannot extract the embedded font MPDFAA++DejaVuSansCondensed some characters may not display or print correctly". On older version everything was fine. ADOBE DEVELOPERS - please quick fix this problem... ;-(

Hi asdfa80756749

Thanks for your help, it works again. I downloaded the Foxit Reader and all fonts come again as it should. :-)

Hi all,

We have released a patch that fixes this font issue. Please download it from the page here and click to apply the same over your existing installation:

The problem is back. Our company account is struggling with this bug and the actual version of Adobe Acrobat 25.1 (CC) too.
Unfortunately, we cannot test whether it also occurs with older versions of Acrobat, as the Creative Cloud does not offer older versions of Adobe Acrobat.

Hello @iQ IMAGE Marketing

I hope you are doing well, and we are sorry for the trouble you had.

Could you please confirm the version of Acrobat installed? Is it 25.001.20531 (Win) | 25.001.20529 (Mac), planned update on June 10, 2025? What is the version of the OS installed?

Re-export PDFs with Full Font Embedding. If you control the source files (e.g., InDesign): Go to File > Export > Adobe PDF (Print). Under Advanced > Font Subsetting, set it to 0% to embed the full font.

Run Preflight Checks in Acrobat. Open the PDF in Acrobat Pro. Go to Print Production > Preflight. Use the “List embedded fonts” profile to inspect how fonts are embedded. You can also try Save As > Optimized PDF or Reduced Size PDF as a workaround.

If the issue continues, please provide the following information: the current version of the operating system on your device, a sample PDF file, the source file, a quick screen recording with the steps/workflow reproducing the issue, and the logs from the affected machine. To collect the logs, download and run the Log Collector tool. Make sure to select all log options and attempt to reproduce the issue. After that, close the Log Collector tool; it will generate the logs along with a log ID. Please share this log ID with us for further investigation.

Thanks,

Anand Sri.

That's not the same problem assuming you have updated as mentioned. Contact makers of PB12.

Hello,

I still have the problem. I use the PB12 to generate the PDF file. Sometimes the file is opened OK but sometimes it has the error "unable to extract embedded font CIDFont+F1". What is recommended?

Thanks

Your message mentions the DejaVu font? Yet my suggestion of going back to 11.0.16 didn't work?

September 24, 2016

I have Adobe Acrobat Professional XI 11.0.17 having the same problem. It is not file generation as the file reads correctly in other programs. None of the suggestions work.  Is there any solution for this?

Thanks.

The two fixes you mentioned are for Acrobat Reader DC, not XI. Time to upgrade.

hi,

any suggest problem fix without upgrade to Adobe Reader DC? becouse my company using Adobe Reader 11.0.17..

Adobe have little interest in software they see as obsolete.

Reader 11 is still supported for perhaps one more year, but priority is only security fixes. See reply #35, "This will be patched in our next update for 11.x tentatively planned for Fall this year."

Or of course, downgrade - remove the security fixes in 11.0.17 by reinstalling then manually patching up to 11.0.16.

Apparently, many PDFs made with this font show this issue. Apparently there is a patch for Acrobat Reader DC but not for the old (almost obsolete) Adobe Reader XI. Maybe there will be.

I recommend you consider using a different font, rather than wait for Adobe.

No the exact version from help - about. Such as 2915.1234.64433 or 11.4.32. In patches exact numbers mean everything.
