Cannot open a pdf in dropbox

Running on a Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2, and like the title says, all I get when I try to open a pdf in my dropbox is a thermometer that sits at zero percent forever.  I tried both wifi and lte; I also tried killing the Reader app and restarting the tablet, but it didn't help.

As the file does not open, please check if it is an issue with this particular file or you experience the same with other files.

Also, try once to open the same file on the desktop application. Check if that opens fine there.

If it is an issue with this particular file, then it can be the file specific issue.

Is it possible for you to share the file with us? If yes, you can take help of the steps mentioned here How to share a file using Adobe Document Cloud to share the file.
