I used to combine PDF Files that had seperate names. Now when I do it, it merges the format. How do I remove this?

I have a PDF with a format that we fill out. We save each one under a different name, then we combine them. When I combine them, it picks up the inforamation in the very first document and fills it in for the rest of them... I want them to remain as seperate documents.

OK, now it's more clear. This is happening because the files share fields with the same name, so when you combine them, those fields become duplicates of one another.

To overcome it you must do one of the following:

- Rename the fields before combining the files, or

- Flatten the fields before combining the files, or

- Merge the files as a Portfolio instead of as a single PDF.

I am having the same issues. Documents that I used to be able to combine without them merging the content are now merging when I combine them. Was there an update or is there some setting I need to do to stop it from auto merging and just combinging without the portfolio. This wasn't an issue before. I did switch from a PC to a MAC does that make a difference?

Have you combined the same documents in the past?

What do you mean by "merging the format", exactly?
